About Soul Winning Missions Centre

Pastor Lu is the founder and president of SWC, based in Yangon. SWC is an independent organization registered with the Ministry of Religious affairs, Myanmar. The activities of SWC include discipleship, leadership training, church planting, orphan ministry and Christian literature distribution. SWC has planted many indigenous churches among the tribal people in Myanmar, China and Thailand. SCW now feeds into more than four hundred house churches in the region.

Our roots

In mid-2006, a few individuals were brought together by their common passion for the poor and desperate people in Myanmar. Their hope was to establish orphanages there to reach out to the many children not receiving adequate care and nourishment due to poverty and neglect.

Their common dream became a reality in May 2007, with the establishment of the Children’s Home in Yangon, Myanmar.

Our Family Members

The Children’s Home takes in children who are separated from their parents, without long-term primary care givers. These children may have been orphaned through the death of parent(s) due to various causes or are neglected as a result of extreme poverty, abandonment or even abuse.

We have a team of staff who provide the children with security and care. The warm love of the guardians have amazingly transformed the children in a short space of time.

Our Goals

We seek to create an environment where all the children can relate to the caregivers as parental models.

We aim to provide a secure and nurturing home where the following needs of the children can be met:

    • Spiritual: rehabilitate, heal, recover and serve

    • Physical: daily subsistence, shelter, clothing, security and health

    • Developmental: attending school, nurturing talent and confidence

    • Social: learning to relate to one another and to the guardians/authorities

Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it. - Proverbs 22:6 (NIV)

Our Beliefs

Education and schooling are essential in order to break the cycle of poverty and abandonment. All children received are registered in the local school in order to maintain positive indigenous community impact in their lives. We will enrich the schooling experience with additional activities run by our home staff and volunteers.

We view education as essential to the growth of personal capacity and talent for each individual. Through this, the child is given the freedom to draw out her personal talent for future contribution to the community.

In addition to academic education through the local schools, the children will also learn domestic skills and receive training for future employment. we aim to extend beyond the provision of physical care and emotional love, to the building of spiritual maturity through Christian-based teaching.
